About Me

I'm Braeden Sowinski, a Computer Systems Technology student at BCIT focused on backend development, systems administration, and building practical software that solves real problems.

My work spans APIs, full-stack applications, data-driven tools, server infrastructure, and software built around real users and workflows. Through personal projects, freelance work, collaborative BCIT projects, and open-source development, I’ve built experience with C, Go, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Docker, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Debian-based systems.

Outside of my own projects and coursework, I’m involved in BCIT’s student tech community as President of Coding 4 All (C4A) Club. In this role, I help organize events, workshops, and student-focused opportunities alongside the BCIT Computing Club, with the goal of helping more students learn, build, and connect.

I’m especially interested in backend systems, infrastructure, analytics, and practical tools that turn messy real-world problems into clean, usable software.

Highlights

Red Team Hackathon - 3rd Place: Team Cerberus Gate earned a third-place finish at the inaugural Red Team Hackathon for building a working prototype around signal classification and emitter tracking. Read the full write-up
